About

Barbara Fontaine-White
Watervliet, NY
Lives & works in Harker Heights, TX
Barbara Fontaine-White taught painting and drawing at the university level for thirty years and now works as a full time artist. Her paintings start as observed reality and are synthesized through composition, memory and imagination. Her work stresses materiality and her materials include cold wax, oil paint, marble dust and paint sticks.
She sees her work as a multifaceted conversation between herself, the viewer and the painting she creates. These dialogs become part of the human experience that recognizes our humanity and connection to the earth.
